Compact and Cost-Efficient Ambient Air Monitoring with IO-Link Communication
Combining ambient air monitoring in a compact and cost-efficient form with the ease of IO-Link communication, the new S15S Temperature and Humidity Sensor with IO-Link monitors temperature, humidity, and dew point to help ensure a safe operating environment for machines and equipment. Its rugged, overmolded housing and compact size allows the S15S to be deployed nearly anywhere, even in confined spaces. By connecting the S15S to an IO-Link master, such as the DXMR90-4K or DXMR110-8K series industrial control controller, valuable sensor data can be used to facilitate predictive maintenance and process optimization.
Condition monitoring data can be viewed in real-time from anywhere when sent to a cloud platform, such as Banner Cloud Data Services (CDS), or locally using a PLC. The discrete output can be connected to a PLC or other system and monitor established temperature, humidity, and dew point thresholds. If these thresholds are exceeded, the discrete output turns on and informs the PLC to turn on misters or humidifiers, actuators to control air flow, and other devices that can return the environment to its normal operating range. Additionally, the S15S Temperature and Humidity Sensor ships with an aluminum grill filter cap, and an optional stainless steel 10 µm sintered filter is available separately.
