  • Part Pick Verification for Large Bins

Part Pick Verification for Large Bins Image

Application: Indicating pick order and automatically verifying picks

Challenges: Users can occasionally make errors in picking parts from large bins, particularly if there are many small parts that need to be selected in a specific order

    Solution: EZ-LIGHT PVD Pick-to-Light Sensor

Benefits: Bright indication, reliable sensing of operator’s hand

Directs the worker to the correct large bin and automatically verifies the pick

    Description

To reduce the risk of errors in an assembly operation, a one-piece EZ-LIGHT PVD pick-to-light sensor can be placed on the top rail of a shelf, pointing its beams downward across the shelf opening. The PVD is interfaced with a process controller that is programmed to illuminate the PVD on the bin to pick.

After the PVD detects that the assembler’s hand has entered and left the bin, the controller signals the PVD on the next bin to pick.
