Case Erecting Solutions for Food Packaging
Case erectors begin the final packaging processes on a food manufacturing line. The finished food cartons need to be placed into shipping cases before travling to stores. Erectors remove flat cases from a stack, assemble them into boxes, and then place each box onto the conveyor for packing. Different size food cartons require various case sizes to accommodate them.
Varied case sizes can be difficult for traditional sensors to recognize. Banner Engineering offers laser distance measurement products, such as the LE and LTF sensors, that are able to detect different distances instead of just a fixed distance. This is a reliable solution for stack level monitoring, ensuring that cases do not run out during assembly. Bright LED indicator lights can also be used at this stage of the packaging line to alert operators to refill status.
