  • Tank Level Measurement in a Car Wash

K50 tank level measurement in a car wash

    Challenge

Car washes require many different detergents, protectants, and other chemicals that are typically stored in small tanks. Operators need to know how much of a given chemical is left so a tank can be refilled before it runs out. However, the concentrated form of these chemicals can be caustic to sensors mounted inside the tanks.

    Solution

A K50R radar sensor mounted on top of each tank offers a reliable, cost-efficient solution to precisely measure the level of chemicals inside. Because radar technology can ignore certain materials, such as plastic tank walls, the K50R can be mounted externally yet still able to reliably measure the liquid level inside the tank. The 50-millimeter to 5-meter range enables the K50R to easily measure from near the top of the tank all the way to the bottom, giving an accurate measurement of how much liquid is left.
