Status Indication of Skid Steer
Challenge: Recently, a construction company worked with Banner Engineering to find a solution that alerted workers to the location and status of skid steers and other construction equipment when used on their job sites. They wanted to help improve the way equipment and workers interacted with enhanced visualization to improve overall worksite safety and productivity. Additionally, worksite managers wanted to find a simple, easy-to-use solution for equipment status when in use. Moreover, they needed to find equipment that performed well in rugged conditions.
Solution: Visible statuses can be used to guide operators or communicate upcoming machine movements. A K100 Pro Daylight Visible beacon was installed on the roof of the skid steer. It was programmed via Pro Editor Software to be green or amber when the skid steer was operational, providing machine status at a glance. The K100 Pro would turn red and one of the 12 audible available alarms would sound whenever the skid steer was moving, dumping, or filling. This simple solution helped promote safety and improve communication by clearly indicating the status of the skid steer.
