To avoid errors and possible damage to wafers, a solution is needed that can detect the presence of wafers located inside the cassette. The space around the cassette is limited and a small, simple solution is ideal in this environment.

Banner Engineering's D10 Fiber Optic Amplifier is a small amplifier used with plastic fibers. It is available with a bright bargraph display to make it easier to view. The D10 Expert sensor was designed to detect small items, The fibers of the D10 move along the stack of wafers in the cassette, mapping which slots are occupied and which are empty.
