This is a short how-to video that will cover the basics of configuring the Width mode for the EG24 Precision Edge Sensor from Banner Engineering.
Width mode measures the distance between the two outermost edges of the target, based on how much of the beam is blocked.
If you need assistance with the configuration process, you can find instructions printed on the side of the housing.
To set the sensor to width mode, begin by pressing and holding the button on the back of the housing for two or more seconds.
The LEDs will begin flashing in unison to indicate that the sensor is in Teach mode.
With the beam unobstructed, push the button two times.
The green LED will flash four times to confirm that the sensor has been set to Width mode, and the sensor will automatically set the 4 to 20 milliamp range to the full width of the beam.
That covers how to configure the Width mode for the EG24 Precision Edge Sensor.
